“I can take any empty space and call it a bare stage. A man walks across this empty space whilst someone else is watching him, and this is all that is needed for an act of theatre to be engaged” – Peter Brook

In this workshop we will dive into the fundamentals of physical theater, exploring what it means to tell a story using our bodies in motion. Borrowing a few concepts from the Viewpoints technique, contact improvisation, and Meyerhold’s Biomechanics we will gain tools for the actor to develop and implement movement on stage that is challenging and engaging.

Taught by Jennifer Welch & Renzo Ampuero

Workshop Dates: Saturday 2/9 & Sunday 2/10
10am – 4pm
Tides Theatre, 533 Sutter Street
Class size is limited.

We will be offering another workshop with Renzo Ampuero in the fall.
